Iran launches air attack on Israel, with drones ‘hours’ away



The IRGC said on Saturday that it had delivered the robots and rockets under the activity "Genuine Commitment", adding that the move was essential for the discipline for "Israeli violations".

Israel said the robots would require a few hours prior to arriving at its airspace.


The strikes come almost two weeks after an Israeli assault on the Iranian department in Syria killed seven IRGC individuals.

"We sent off an activity involving robots and rockets in light of the Zionist element's wrongdoing of focusing on the Iranian department in Syria," the IRGC said in an explanation.


"The activity was completed with many rockets and robots to strike explicit focuses in the involved domains."


Talking in broadcast address on Saturday, Israel's military's representative, Daniel Hagari, said: "Iran sent off UAVs [unmanned elevated vehicles] from its region towards the domain of the province of Israel.


"This is an extreme and hazardous heightening. Our protective and hostile capacities are at the most elevated level of status in front of this enormous scope assault from Iran."
